A message for residents from North Yorkshire Council: 2026 GARDEN WASTE SERVICE Residents can now pay for their licence for the 2026 garden waste collection service. A licence costs £52 for collections between March and early December. The licence covers one 240-litre wheelie bin to be emptied fortnightly. Anyone who wants to have more than one bin emptied will need to pay for a licence for each additional bin. Residents can also pay for a licence at any time throughout the season but are encouraged to do so before the start of the service in March as the cost remains the same. Once paid, a licence pack should arrive within 14 days. A message from RAF Leeming: “There will be increased movement by aircraft operating from RAF Leeming from 19 January to 6 February 2026. The Station will be hosting helicopters for an Exercise which will include low and late flying. There will also be some increased jet movement during daylight hours on 26/27 Jan and 2/3 Feb. We understand our responsibility as good neighbours to inform the local community of such events that are additional to our normal flying activities and every effort will be made to keep the disturbance to a minimum.” Norma Grubb, Clerk to the Parish Council , 16 Jan 2026 Email: clerk@pickhillandsinderbypc.co.uk
