HRH Duke of Edinburgh
Pickhill with Roxby & Sinderby Parish Council is deeply saddened to learn of the death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh on Friday 9th April 2021.
We join the entire nation, in mourning a decorated veteran of the Royal Navy in the Second World War who since 1947 has devoted his life to supporting Her Majesty The Queen and this Country. That sense of service to the nation and strength of character has been an inspiration to us all.
His good humour, wit, and record of service created warm and long-lasting impressions on all those he met. We are immensely thankful for his lifetime of faithful service to the Crown, the Country and the Commonwealth and we mourn his passing deeply.
Our sincerest condolences are with Her Majesty the Queen, and the Members of the Royal Family at this incredibly sad time.

A message for residents from North Yorkshire Council: 2026 GARDEN WASTE SERVICE Residents can now pay for their licence for the 2026 garden waste collection service. A licence costs £52 for collections between March and early December. The licence covers one 240-litre wheelie bin to be emptied fortnightly. Anyone who wants to have more than one bin emptied will need to pay for a licence for each additional bin. Residents can also pay for a licence at any time throughout the season but are encouraged to do so before the start of the service in March as the cost remains the same. Once paid, a licence pack should arrive within 14 days.
